I have come across an error while attempting to install the .NET Framework on a few occasions. I have experienced it on Windows 2000, 2003 and I think XP also. Windows displays an error even before the installation starts that the files could not be extracted due to insufficient disk space. I did some searching online and didn't really find any explanation for this. However, it seems any .zip program can open and read the contents of the installer file. There are 5 files, including an install.exe, which will run the setup for the Framework. These files can be zipped back together if desired to make a single distributable file.
